Installation Instructions

Read Before Installing

The Pet Ready® RV Dog Leash Tie Out is designed to be installed through the exterior sidewall of an RV into the interior wall cavity. Installation requires cutting the RV sidewall and drilling mounting holes.

Before beginning installation, confirm all of the following:

  • The selected mounting location contains a hollow wall cavity
  • There is no plumbing, wiring, studs, or structural framing in the mounting area
  • The surface is flat and suitable for flush mounting
  • You are comfortable performing permanent modifications to your RV

If you are unsure about your RV wall construction, consult your dealership or a qualified RV technician before installing.

Product Overview

The Pet Ready® system consists of:

  • A steel internal mounting plate with integrated leash hook
  • An exterior mounting plate that sandwiches the RV sidewall
  • An all weather gasket
  • A finishing bezel and cover with stainless steel fasteners 

When installed, the leash hook recesses approximately 0.5 inches into the wall cavity. Typical RV sidewalls provide approximately 1 to 1.5 inches of internal clearance.

Installation Summary

A paper installation template is included with your product.

General installation steps:

  1. Select a suitable mounting location and verify a clear wall cavity
  2. Level and tape the paper template to the RV sidewall
  3. Cut the wall opening per the template
  4. Drill the four mounting holes through the sidewall
  5. Insert the internal steel mounting plate behind the wall
  6. Position the exterior plate with bezel and fasten securely

Always keep the installation level and follow the template exactly.

Safety Notes

  • Always supervise pets while tethered
  • Do not exceed the intended use of the product
  • Inspect the installation periodically for tightness and wear
  • This product is not intended to secure unattended animals
